岭南陈定泰、陈相静、陈珍阁一门三代,凭借西医学在岭南传播、发展最 早的地域优势条件,从十九世纪上半叶,率先在中医界开始了中西医学汇 通的研究。陈定泰早在1829年《医林改错》出版之前就接触到了王清任 的脏腑学说,萌发了研究人体脏腑和经络实质的愿望。他接触当时广州的 西医,了解西医人体解剖知识,于1844年著成《医谈传真》一书。其书一 方面对中医传统的脏腑学说提出异议;另一方面,第一次从解剖角度对中 医经络学说产生疑问。陈定泰子陈相静,继承父业,筹资刻印了《医谈传 真》。陈定泰孙陈珍阁,则阐扬家学,亲赴南洋新加坡英国皇家大医院学 习三年,掌握了系统的近代西医知识,于1890年著成《医纲总枢》。该书 在验证陈定泰学说的同时,分别论述了中、西医内科学,而在治疗上一统 于中药。陈氏一门三代相承,不断补充、创新,在早期的中西医汇通中有 较高水平,成为中西医汇通派在中国的短短百年历程中独有的汇通学术世 家。

The three generations of Chen Dingtai, Chen Xiangjing, Chen Zhenge in Lingnan began the first research on the confluence of Chinese and western medicine in TM field in the early ninteenth century by depending on the geographic benefit of the western medicine's first propagation in China. In 1829, Cheng Dingtai began his studying of the essence of the viscera and collaterals of Wang Qingren before the publish of Yi Lin Gai Cuo. He communicated with western physicians and studied anatomy, then in 1844, he wrote Yi Tan Chuan Zhen. IN this book, he expressed his argument to the traditional visceral theory of TCM and questioned the collateral theory according to anatomy. His son Cheng Xiangjing continued his work and printed Yi Tan Chuan Zhen. His grandson Cheng Zhenge developed the modern western medicine, he published YI Gang Zong Shu in 1890. The book not only proved the theory of Chen Dingai, but also stated internal medicine of both Chinese and wesern medicine, and united the treatment into Chinese herb. The three generations of Chen family passed on the theory one by one and reached a higher level in the confluence of Chinese and western medicine of the early stage, and became the only aristocartic family in this field which developed for a hundred years in China.
