Official Journal of the Ecological Society of Japan. The journal increases to 4 issues in 1999. Ecological Research has been published in English by the Ecological Society of Japan since 1986 in order to promote internationally the results of research in ecology. The Journal publishes original research papers, critical reviews, technical reports, and notes and comments covering all aspects of ecology. Manuscripts are judged on the basis of their contribution of original data and ideas or interpretation.
