| 英文文摘 | In 1920s, traditional Chinese medicine was discriminated by the old government and strict restrictions were promulagted for the practice of traditional Chinese medicine. In answer to the appeals of the TCM associations throughout the country, TCM physicians in Changshu, Jiangsu Province, took the lead in protesting against the government, advocating the publication of medical journals and sending representatives to talk to the government officials. Supported by the medical field, Wu Juquan, standing director of the Medical Association of Changshu County, made great contributions in protecting the valuable heritage of the Chinese medicine.
