一、图画描述段
按一般水平，写4句，约50个字。
要不要写这一段取决于指令，2001年作文就没有让写。如果指令要求要写，为什么要求你写呢? 让你描写的最终目的，还是为了阐释寓意, 所以描述本身不是目的,目的在于第二段, 对其进行阐发。所以, 与寓意有关的要写, 与寓意无关的不写.
一大禁忌是对图画细节进行过分描述。比如，2004年的作文题寓意是终点就是起点, 人生奋斗应该永不停息, 而不能停下来喘息。所以在描写时，不应该对两棵树，跑道，小旗帜，背心上的花纹，是短裤还是七分裤给以过多的关注，豆大的汗珠也不要。抓住三点：一、男孩在跑道上跑（run on the track), 二、马上要冲刺（is sprinting/dashing/rushing to the finishing line), 三、冲刺的终点线后方写着终点(ending point)，前方写着起点(starting point)。
再比如2002年美国女孩穿中国服装题，寓意是文化交流不是文化冲突，写出美国女孩, 穿的是中国传统服装(traditional Chinese costumes), 面带微笑就行了（smiling like an angel、wearing a sweet smile)。
描述图画段有四种写法，按四句话办。
写法一 四句话，描述图画（必须在第二段第一句写出中想)
写法二 三句描述图画，一句点出中心思想
写法三 一句点出中心思想，三句写出图画
写法四 第一句: 指出话题,说的是什么事情 第二句: 描写图画 1第三句: 描写图画 2 （如果是一张图，描写两句)第4句: 点明中心思想
常用句：As is shown/…， we can see clearly that…/
The purpose of the pictures/the drawer is to reveal/expose to us a common and serious problem in China/in our social life:
以2003年作文的第一段为例，我们采用第3种写法，可以写成：
There is no doubt that the purpose of the pictures is to reveal us a common and serious problem in China: how to educate and cultivate the young. As is depicted in the first picture, the flower blooms in the greenhouse despite the storm outside. However, in the second picture, it fades away under the storm when put outside. Obviously, the flower cannot withstand wind and rain.
划线是可供同学们参考的模板。用同样的模板去套2005年的题，写成：

As is depicted in the cartoon, (一位老人的三个儿子和一个女儿在进行一场足球赛) an old man’s three sons and only daughter are having a football match. 他们都企图将那个足球，也就是他们的老父亲，往别人的球门里踢) They all attempt to kick the football, their miserable father, into others’ goal 同时守好自己的门while keeping their own. 显然，老父亲成了即便是自己的亲生儿女也不愿意接收的废物 Obviously，the aged father has become something even his children are unwilling to accept.
基础薄弱的同学，自己要一些模板，然后在平时多加练习，修改，定型，考试时套用。
